PRECISION
It takes a powerful imagination, technical expertise and unwavering ingenuity to create a superior aircraft like the LX7. To replicate it again and again takes a precise process – one that RDD relentlessly pursues and refines day in and day out.
RDD has created a process that incorporates highly accurate tooling to control the exterior shape of the LX7 flying surfaces. In order to achieve the outstanding performance goals for both high and low speed, the shape of the wing and tail components is critical. The result of the effort is tooling that eliminates the need for measuring and minimizes the number of times the part is touched during processing.
LX7 parts are so similar from airplane to airplane that they can be interchanged from one airplane to another. Accuracy in design that is matched by accuracy in manufacturing produces an airplane that flies the same from one to the next and ensures proper performance time after time. The accuracy of the tooling yields a result that has a tolerance similar to the thickness of a coat of paint!
It all happens at a small efficiently run facility at the airport in Redmond, Oregon. We invite you to visit our headquarters to see how we make the most of our meticulous methods and put the LX7 to the test.
